EMAP @ Ars Electronica 2023

September 6, 2023, 7:00 pm - September 10, 2023, 7:00 pm

„Who Owns the Truth?“ This years theme of Ars Electronica directly addresses crucial and contentious issues of our time: truth and ownership, interpretive authority and sovereignty. Can truth be owned? Is there a right to truth and if it does belong to someone or some institution, what control and responsibility are associated with it?

EMAP will once again be represented in Linz in 2023 with various artistic projects. As part of the Theme Exhibition - (Co)Owning More-than-Truth, EMAP member Ars Electronica will show its residency artists Charlotte Jarvis (2022) and Dorotea Dolinšek (2023), as well as Alizée Armet, rynb.org, Sasha Litvinstseva & Beny Wagner, Juliane Jaschnow & Stefanie Schroeder. Kersnikova's current EMAP artist, Marisa Satsia, presents her project in the Ars Electronica Garden. Nadja Verena Marcin receives an honorary mention in the framework of the European Union Prize for Citizen Science for her project #Sophygray.

From 06 September, there will also be a chance to get to know EMAP member organisations and their festival programme better: with the exhibition CODE 2023, IMPAKT [Centre for Media Culture] aims to make the public in general and politicians and policymakers in particular aware of the digital challenges of our time. Hexagram, this year's international residency host organisation based in Montreal, shows the exhibition "imprints" with exploratory and creative works by members of the Hexagram network, mainly students, in the Ars Electronica Gardens.

Ars Electronica 2023 takes place from 06 - 10 September 2023.
