During FIBER’s Symposium at Fiber Festival 2023, Studio Above&Below will give an in-depth talk about their recent research and design for their installation Meditative Cohabitation. Meditative Cohabitation is an immersive experience and speculative future scenario which explores an ecosystem in regards to the present and future coexistence between humans and non-human species. The project looks into bioacoustics and interspecies communication and aims to translate communication signals and environmental real-time data into an AV artwork.

Studio Above&Below will introduce their process of thinking, research, processes and technologies which they have used throughout their recent body of work. They talk will provoke a new way of thinking about our interconnectivity with other ecosystems within future cities. The studio hopes to create more empathy and purpose for advanced technologies to serve more than human lifeforms, rather than humans and the economy alone.
