Artist Nadja Verena Marcin in collaboration with Alex Stachowiak presents #Sophygray – a Feminist Voice Chat Bot, an interactive AI-driven installation conceived within EMAP (2022). The work is presented by our partner Communal Gallery Berlin and is supported with an EMAP Partner Presentation Grant (PPG). It is presented in the framework of the programme It’s A Balance Trick.

The installation operates as a feminist audio system based on an expanding corpus of texts, citations and discourse, translated into a conversational interface that generates spoken responses and evolving dialogical structures around questions of authorship, knowledge production, and representation within AI systems.
