Paula Nishijima, in collaboration with Marlén López, presents Plug-in-Habitat (2022) as part of the exhibition Echoes of the Living. Biomimicry, between Art and Sciences at Les Abattoirs, Musée – Frac Occitanie Toulouse. The work was developed during their 2022 EMAP residency at LABoral Centro de Arte y Creación Industrial. The presentation is supported through an EMAP Partner Presentation Grant (PPG).

Developed in collaboration with Le Quai des Savoirs, the exhibition explores biomimicry as a way of rethinking the relationship between living organisms, science and technology. Bringing together works by Pierre-Jean Giloux, Jérémy Gobé and Paula Nishijima, it looks at how artistic and scientific research can intersect in response to environmental and ecological questions.
