The 18th Media Art Biennale WRO 2019 under the self-proclaimed title HUMAN ASPECT took place in Wrocław (Poland) from May till December 2019. The festival opened the perspective of discussing the new reality of the uncertain contact between technological and human matter and how artists recognize this state of art. Today, this perspective has significantly expanded, and the works and performances presented at the WRO 2019 exhibitions have gained new relevance and context. A comprehensive catalogue of the Biennale events presents a survey of exhibits, events, thematic discussions, texts and critical analyses, complete with an abundant collection of video resources, which flesh out and highlight the meanings of the eponymous phrase.
The new catalogue conveys the entanglements of the human as both the creator and the recipient in an unpredictable network of interpenetrating interactions, in artistic representations which make it possible to experience and understand these processes.
