Tempo e tempo Luiz Zanotello @ gnration

Scattered around the internet we find hundreds of open-access cameras observing the transformation of skies, seas, forests, deserts, glaciers and rivers to monitor climate changes, biodiversity, pollution and much more. Starting from the double meaning of the Portuguese word “tempo” which refers both to chronological time and weather, Tempo e tempo (Time and time) is the construction of a more-than-human language, where a computer vision algorithm choreographs the flow of camera transmissions in real time. Created by Luiz Zanotello in collaboration with Ricardo Vieira during a residency at gnration, Portugal, this work is also a dialogue between the two artists comprising an infinite text created generatively by both artists in their mother tongues and thus exploring a gap between Brazilian Portuguese and European Portuguese.

The exhibition is on show at gnration in Braga until 04 January 2025.
