Paolo Cirio is one of the 2026 EMAP artists in residence at IMPAKT and is known for his critical investigations into the intersections of technology, power, surveillance, and society. Across his practice, he explores themes such as facial recognition, the data economy, and digital rights.

In this talk, Cirio will present key strands of his work and reflect on how artistic practice can make hidden structures of power in digital societies visible and open to public discussion. His projects combine research, video essays, data visualisation, and public interventions, addressing issues ranging from corporate data extraction to state surveillance and the online manipulation of information.
