This workshop by Kontjener, led by Dr. Sunčica Ostoić, is designed for emerging artists seeking to enhance their application skills for residencies focused on artistic outcomes. Participants will learn how to craft a compelling biography and portfolio that showcase their achievements and align with the residency’s mission. The session will also cover the development of a clear project concept, emphasizing its significance and feasibility. Additionally, artists will receive guidance on preparing a technical rider, budget and project plan. A follow-up guide, offering a step-by-step framework for navigating residency applications, will be published on the EMAP website in January 2025.
A registration is required, applicants should submit a short biography (maximum 150 words), a concept for one of their produced artworks (maximum 400 words), and their portfolio by 21st November to ostoic.suncica@gmail.com

More about Dr. Sunčica Ostoić:
Dr. Sunčica Ostoić is an art historian and theorist from Zagreb, Croatia, focusing on the intersection of visual arts with science, technology, and the body in the 20th and 21st centuries. She graduated in art history and philosophy from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at the University of Zagreb and holds a PhD in Art and Media Sciences from the Faculty of Media and Communications in Belgrade. As a co-founder and long-time director of KONTEJNER | bureau of contemporary art praxis, a Zagreb-based association, Ostoić has worked for twenty-five years as an independent curator, organizer of artistic events, and researcher. She has authored numerous professional and scientific articles, written forewords for art exhibitions, edited exhibition catalogs and interdisciplinary readers, and lectured at various conferences. Since 2016, she has also been an external lecturer and expert collaborator at the Academy of Fine Arts, University of Zagreb where she teaches courses on art, science, and technology, as well as professional writing for artists.
