M-Cult's director, media art expert, EMAP member, and our friend Minna Tarkka passed away on August 27, 2023, following a short illness.
Minna had been leading M-Cult since its foundation in 2001 and had been an essential part of our platform since 2018.

As an expert, she had an incredible wealth of knowledge in the field of media art and was always on the lookout for special, collaborative, and sustainable artistic projects. We got to know Minna as an enthusiastic and visionary curator of media art, and at the same time, as a wonderful host – for us as the EMAP consortium, and especially for all the artists who had the opportunity to spend their residencies at M-Cult.

We are deeply moved by Minna's passing and will bid farewell to her at an EMAP get-together at Ars Electronica.
