EMAP artist in residence dr.masharu will be part of this year´s OSTEN Festival in Bitterfeld-Wolfen. Next to their constantly growing Museum of Edible Earth which focuses on edible soil and earth eating practices, dr.masharu will showcase the current status of Compost as Superfood.

Compost as Superfood will explore production of new humxn-made earth-like substances meant especially for voluntary ingestion by humxns. The act of making compost plays into the engagement with recreating healthy soil that is sufficient in nutrients and minerals. The project aims to discuss the safety surrounding consumption of organic materials, and the complexity of cultural understanding, spatial awareness, environmental awareness, and personal desires surrounding this.

OSTEN Festival will take place from 01 - 16 June 2024; dr.masharu´s presentation will be on 16 June 2024, 15:00 pm.
