The exhibition Expect the Unexpected – Current Concepts of Photography at Kunstmuseum Bonn discusses the new visual worlds which are product of the digital transformation and how current technological developments affect artistic photography. It does so by presenting exemplary artistic positions of the last ten years who have been significantly involved in the expansion and redefinition of artistic photography. Anna Ridler´s Mosaic Virus is part of this exhibitition; in her work she draws historical parallels from “tulip-mania” that swept across Netherlands/Europe in the 1630s to the speculation currently ongoing around crypto-currencies. The appearance of the blooming tulip is controlled by the bitcoin price.
