Mohsen Hazrati

Mohsen Hazrati (b. 1987, Shiraz, Iran) is a Berlin-based artist and researcher working at the intersection of literature, ethics, and digital technologies. His long-term practice explores how non-Western knowledge systems, ritual, and poetic traditions can challenge dominant models of machine rationality and artificial intelligence.
Through installations, performances, and research-based projects, Hazrati examines questions of agency, decision-making, and ethics in human–machine interaction, often drawing on Persian and Arabic literary traditions. His work has been exhibited and featured in museums, festivals, and platforms such as the National Museum of Oslo, CCCB Museum Barcelona, MK&G museum Hamburg, Art Dubai, Ars Electronica, SOMA Berlin, IMPAKT, HAL Berlin, Grafikenshus Museum, re:publica Berlin, Triennale Fellbach, MUTEK UAE, IDAF Istanbul, and Espronceda Barcelona. He received the 2023 VR ART PRIZE (DKB/CAA Berlin) and was shortlisted for the 2024 XR History Award. Residencies include Akademie Schloss Solitude, CODE at IMPAKT Centre for Media Culture, and Rizq Art Initiative (Abu Dhabi).
His works and research have been presented at conferences and events, including in Udk Berlin, abk- Stuttgart, IAM Weekend Barcelona, Goldsmiths London, UCL MAL London, DESY Center Berlin, University of Bonn, HTW Berlin, Kinshasa Academy of Fine Arts, Ruhr University Bochum, and TEDx Mollasadra St.
