Celine Daemen & Aron Fels in collaboration with Studio Nergens
Celine Daemen,
Aaron Fels,
CELINE DAEMEN is a director of transdisciplinary art. Her work lies at the intersection of theatre, music, visual arts, and immersive technology. After graduating from the Academy of Performative Arts Maastricht in 2018, she created several productions where immersion in both music and virtual environments forms a common thread. Celine aims to create sensory experiences that invite the audience to look inward.
ARON FELS is an art director for Virtual Reality. In 2017, he graduated in Immersive Media and Visual Effects from the Netherlands Film Academy. Inspired by new techniques, he searches for new ways of designing and telling immersive stories. In his design, he creates magical-realist worlds where he use photorealistic techniques, like photo-grammetry and volumetric video, as surreal illusions in an interactive environment.
Studio Nergens creates immersive experiences at the intersection of opera, visual arts, and digital technology. With award-winning VR operas such as Songs for a Passerby and Eurydice, we invite you to step away from the familiar world. We build ‘in-between' spaces where you can get lost, only to find yourself in a new way.
Our productions are an exploration of how we exist in the world. Are we our bodies, or do we have a body? And is reality a fixed constant, or is it actively shaped by our physical experience of it? We translate these universal questions into a personal journey full of moving music, enigmatic soundscapes, surprising technology, and captivating visuals. This is how we make deeply human questions tangible—and turn you into the protagonist of your own reflection.
