Carl Emil Carlsen in collaboration with Anna Fišere

Carl Emil Carlsen (born 1982) is a Danish artist and designer who delves into the exploration of computation as a tool for creating interactive audiovisual experiences in diverse contexts. His work encompasses the use of generative algorithms and mixed-reality illusions to examine how virtual phenomena can occupy physical space and imitate the living. Carlsen has a rich background in visual music and has performed in numerous concerts, including with the duo Silicium, which has been featured at events like Ars Electronica. He has also contributed to various productions involving virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), and extended reality (XR) in areas such as performance, film, theater, and product development. Furthermore, Carlsen has a history of serving as an external lecturer at local design schools, including the Copenhagen Institute of Interaction Design.

Anna Fišere is a Latvian composer working in the areas of chamber music, opera, music for choir and vocal ensembles, instrumental solo pieces, duos, electroacoustic music and sound installations. Fascinated by the most intricate properties of sound, she approaches it as a live organism that embodies a musical form in itself. Her work is often created in close collaboration with musicians, exploring the finest timbral, textural and technical possibilities of each instrument that eventually lead to meticulously designed sonoric architectures. Inspired by the mysteries of nature, she steps with it into a conversation through her music in which she strives to collide disciplined rationality and scientific research with feminine intuition and sensitive plasticity.
