Those that are doomed to fail and Those that are doomed to succeed... – with this title EMARE artist Matthew Gingold will present a survey of recent works, ideas and projects – those that have been doomed to fail and those that may be doomed to succeed on the 4th of June at 7 pm at Werkleitz Gesellschaft in Halle/Saale (Germany).

Matt Gingold is currently attending his artist residency at Werkleitz Gesellschaft. He is exploring the psychophysical affect and effect of technologies on, and within ‘bodies’ – from musique concrète to (sham)animism, neurobiology to artificial and unofficial intelligence, he is fascinated by the (biosociopolisexuatechnical) forces at the interface of ‘being/body’ and ‘device/machine’.

In the framework of the European Media Artists in Residence Exchange (EMARE) program Matthew Gingold develops a new work which will be premiered at Werkleitz Festival 2015 .move ON in October in Halle.

With an early love for photography, music and computers Gingolds´ practice bridges sonic installation, experimental documentary, live film, programming and performance art. His works have been presented in Asia, Europe, North and South America, as well as in his homeland of Australia.
