“Perspection” by Matthew Biederman and Pierce Warnecke celebrates its world premiere on CTM Berlin - Festival for Adventurous Music and Art

The audiovisual performance of the two EMARE artists will be shown for the first time within CTM in Berlin on 27th January. CTM –  Festival for Adventurous Music and Art is a prominent international festival dedicated to contemporary electronic, digital and experimental music, as well as the diverse range of artistic activities in the context of sound and club cultures. Since 1999 it takes place concurrently and cooperatively with the transmediale – international festival for art and digital culture, Berlin.

Perspection is comprised of a series of audiovisual explorations, delving into ideas of physical space vs visual space as it connects to color, light and sound. The work plays with the notions of interactivity and synchronization, thresholds of sonic and visual perception, extreme dynamics, drone / static moments vs extremely loud noise oriented sections as well as rhythmic parts. The work focuses on the idea of embodied perception and its relationship to a singular perspective. In this way, some will hear sounds inaudible for others, and the same for the imagery.
