Culture talks @ Goethe: Pedro Ferreira

November 7, 2014, 5:30 pm

WallFall14 Artist talk & screening

In our first juried residency within our two-year international media art project "Move On", Wrocław-based Portuguese artist Pedro Ferreira talks about his own practice between Europe's south-west and north-east and his ongoing work "Fragment". This series of experimental films is based on the research of private lives which questions the way we experience our existence as human beings. Ferreira will explore super 8 amateur found footage from Canada to create both a single-channel film and a live performance. Toronto's “Fragment” will eventually be performed with the group "Derme" as a live cinema performance in addition to single-channel installations or screenings.

Pedro Ferreira, born in Portugal in 1988, holds a BA in Multimedia from the Polytechnic Institute of Bragança and an MA in Multimedia Arts and Culture from the University of Porto. He is one of the founders of the collective ASK and director of DERME live cinema performance. He lives and works as a freelancer in Wrocław and regularly presents his videos at international film and media festivals. See samples here!
